St. Norbert College professor named president of the National Council for Geographic Education

Mark Bockenhauer, associate professor of Geography at St. Norbert College and National Geographic Society geography education consultant, has been named president of the National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE). The NCGE works to enhance the status and quality of geography teaching and learning. Its mission seeks to promote the importance and value of geographic education and enhance educators with respect to their knowledge of content, techniques and learning processes. Bockenhauer has been at St. Norbert College since 1994, serving as an instrumental figure in promoting the understanding of geography
