Jenny Lee Reese, a native of Shiocton, Wis., joined the St. Norbert College career services department as an assistant director of internships and a career counselor in July. Reese earned her M.A. degree in counseling and student personnel from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in May 2007 after graduating from Ripon College in 2005 summa cum laude with a B.A. degree in business administration and sociology/anthropology. Before arriving at St. Norbert College, Reese interned at the Career and Community Learning Center for the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She also participated in Federal TRIO programs, including Student Support Services, which work to retain college-level students, and Upward Bound, designed to aid high school students in their transition to college. According to Reese, these educational programs motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, including first generation students who may have disabilities or come from low-income families. In addition to her work with these programs, Reese co-instructed a career and major exploration class and assisted in the instruction of sociology courses at her alma mater, the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
