The St. Norbert College Music Department will present the 19th annual Middle Level Honors Band Festival on Saturday, November 3 at 4:00 p.m. in the Walter Theatre, Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts. Admission is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature more than 230 young musicians from 65 Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula schools. Internationally-respected composers Michael Sweeney and Larry Clark will each conduct bands comprised of students who were recommended by their middle or high school band directors.

According to Frederick Schmidt, professor of music, clarinet and saxophone and Honors Band Festival director, the event has attracted over 3,500 students and 15 composers and clinicians to the campus in the past 18 years in addition to serving as a model for similar band clinics at colleges and universities in several states nationwide.
