Core Component

5b: The organization has the capacity and the commitment to engage with its identified constituencies and communities.

The Masters in Theological Studies program was developed in partnership with the Green Bay, Wisconsin and Albuquerque, New Mexico diocese. The Master's of Science in Education was developed in response to a request from the Triton (northeastern Wisconsin) Superintendents for a high quality accessible Master's program for area teachers. The Door County Lecture Series provides academic programming to an area of the State (and transient population) not served by a college or university. Formal and informal articulation agreements with technical colleges and two-year campuses allow area students to complete their degrees. The College solicits alumni feedback and conducts local focus groups and surveys to identify needs and plan future initiatives. The College participates in bi-monthly meetings with the City of De Pere and representatives of the neighborhood association to address issues of common concern. College facilities are made available to civic organizations. The Music Theatre and Dudley Birder Chorale perform regularly at the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts. A cable TV program, "Conversations from St. Norbert" provides community access to campus and international experts on various topics of interest. The College web site provides current campus news and the College has recently explored the possibility of its new library serving as a regional library. The Language Services Program provides translation and basic language instruction for area business engaged in international commerce. Finally, the College Advancement Matrix details numerous efforts to engage alumni, parents, community, foundations, and businesses in the life and work of the College.
