Student Catechists

Ernie Beltran
Ernie Beltran
Ernie is a junior at St. Norbert College. He comes to us from Chicago, Ill. Ernie is a business administration major with a concentration in finance and a minor in Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys working in construction sales and wants to open up a detail shop for cars named “Ernie’s Detailing Co.," when he graduates from SNC. Ernie is the vice president of Sports Ministry and is also a member of Frassati, the men’s Catholic club on campus. Ernie is involved in five intramural sports and is a campus tour guide. He decided to become a catechist this year because he wanted to grow in his relationship with God.

Grace Brick
Grace Brick
Grace is a sophomore at St. Norbert majoring in theology with an emphasis in youth ministry. Her home parish is Old Saint Patrick's in Chicago, Ill., where she was an active participant in the youth group, Foundations. Throughout high school, she taught religious education at St. Mary Parish in Riverside, Ill. She will be the fourth and fifth grade catechist at the parish.

Bethany Doll
Bethany Doll
Bethany is a junior at St. Norbert, majoring in theology and religious studies and minoring in philosophy and theater studies. She is from Shepherd of the Hills Parish in Eden, Wis. Bethany has served in her home parish in various roles including working with the middle and high school religious education programs. She is involved in numerous student orgs including being the secretary of Chiara, the new Catholic women’s group on campus. She hopes to be a youth/campus minister or get involved in mission work in the future. She is very excited to share the faith and walk with the teens on their faith journey this year and in the future.

Aubrie Faust
Aubrie Faust
Aubrie is a junior from Hubertus, Wis., majoring in history education with a broadfield social studies minor. She grew up attending Mass at Holy Hill the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians. On campus, Aubrie is involved with the upperclass service program as a volunteer at Syble Hopp School and she is a student worker for the teacher-education program. She is a member of the Honors Program and the Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority. In addition, she is the student coordinator of the Michels Hall Service Program, a TRIPS leader, and is a music coordinator of student Knight Masses and Praise and Worship Adoration. Aubrie is excited to be more involved with the Parish this year and to journey alongside the confirmation students, helping them to prepare for this life-giving sacrament. Jennifer Grey
Jennifer Grey
Jennifer is a freshman at SNC and is double majoring in secondary education and history. She hales from Menomonee Falls, Wis. and does a lot of volunteer work within her home parish of St. Dominic’s in Brookfield, Wis. Jennifer has always loved to share her faith with kids in her parish through both Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) and Vacation Bible School, and is excited to have a new opportunity to teach children about the Catholic faith. She is an avid runner and a lover of books and Disney movies.

Cole Johnson
Cole Johnson
Cole is a sophomore at St. Norbert. He is a theology and religious studies major with a philosophy minor. He decided to be a student catechist because of his deep love of the Catholic church and his desire to spread God's word to the youth of today. He is currently discerning the priesthood so engaging in one of the many jobs priests do in their everyday lives – expanding their circle of knowledge to the public – has been a great way to make his path in life clearer. In his free time, he loves to play tennis, listen to music, watch movies and hang out with friends. He is extremely excited to work with students and see how much their faith grows throughout the year.

Abby Kurth
Abby Kurth
Abby is a junior at SNC, originally from St. Maria Goretti parish in Madison, Wis. She is a business and theology double major. She recently spent the summer serving as both a core team member for Love Begins Here – Green Bay, and as a counselor at Camp Tekakwitha. She is excited to continue to share the love and light of God with young people this year as a middle school catechist. She enjoys playing the piano, coloring and just spending time with her friends whenever she has free time.

Thaddeus Loduha
Thaddeus Loduha

Thaddeus is very happy to be working as a student catechist. He is a miracle baby, surviving a high-risk birth as a premature, C-section baby at 2 pounds. His mother prayed to St. Jude Thaddeus who is the saint of impossible cases, and knew what was to be her son’s name. Thaddeus has been passionate and serious about his faith since he was little, bringing his faith to the forefront of his everyday life. His eager personality and passion for his Catholic faith stem from his birth. Thaddeus lives by this mantra: “I have been spared and God had a reason for it. It is my duty to make sure I do all I can to relish the gift of life and find my purpose which God has called me to.” His hometown is Wauwatosa, Wis., where he lives with his parents Daniel and Terezia and his younger brother Nikolas.Thaddeus’ parents are from Slovakia, and he is very proud of his Slovak blood. He speaks Slovak at home and occasionally at school. Thaddeus is a senior majoring in geology. Thaddeus is an outdoorsman who loves to hunt, hike and camp. He also enjoys ballroom dancing, working out, photography and being involved with various faith-based activities around campus.

Megan McFadden
Megan McFadden
Megan is a freshman at St. Norbert College majoring in psychology with a minor in classical studies. She is from Pewaukee, Wis. and her home parish is St. Anthony on the Lake in Pewaukee, Wis. Megan has enjoyed volunteering at various Catholic grade schools in the Milwaukee area during high school. The capstone of her four years of service culminated with a two week service immersion program called Vocare, where she served at a Catholic grade school in Milwaukee during the month of January. At St. Norbert College Parish, she will be teaching the First Communion and Reconciliation class. Megan will also be working in music ministry at the parish. She is excited to begin a new journey in faith and share her excitement with new students!

Ben Moreau
Ben Moreau
Ben is a junior at St. Norbert. He is majoring in biology and wants to be a physician assistant when we gets done with grad school. He is from Kingsford, Mich., and attends American Martyrs Parish in Kingsford. At St. Norbert College Parish he will be serving as a catechist for third and fourth graders. Ben is also a resident assistant and on parish council on campus. He tries helping out as much as he can around church. Ben loves spending time with friends and family, and also enjoys watching the Green Bay Packers.

Andrew Schaut
Andrew Schaut
Andrew is a freshmen this year at SNC. He's planning to major in math and/or biology with a focus in neuroscience. Andrew is from Green Bay, Wis. and attends St. Agnes Parish. He taught a sixth grade religious education class his senior year of high school and has been active in his church community including helping his family work the church picnic each summer. Andrew will be serving as a catechist with the freshmen and sophomore high school students. Andrew hopes to work with the students in applying faith in all that they do and developing their faith in practical ways.

Mike Schirger
Mike, a junior at St. Norbert, is majoring in mathematics and computer science. He is from Grafton, Wis., and attends St. Francis Borgia in Cedarburg, Wis. Mike will be serving as a catechist for the confirmation program in the Generations of Faith program. For the majority of his life, Mike has taken a great interest in his faith and has always desired to know a great deal about Catholicism. He looks forward to sharing his faith in the classroom and helping high school students prepare for confirmation. Having been blessed to have many good role models in his faith life, Mike hopes that he can help others find a deeper understanding of God and His love for all of His children.

Karen is a junior at St. Norbert majoring in secondary education and Spanish and minoring in English as a Second Language and English. She is from Janesville, Wis., and attends St. Peter’s Parish in South Beloit, Ill. Karen has been assisting and teaching catechism since the seventh grade in her home parish. Here at St. Norbert College Parish, she will be serving as a catechist for the freshmen and sophomore high school students in the Generations of Faith program. On campus, she is involved with Sangres Sin Fronteras, Multicultural Student Services and with the admissions office as a student representative and tour guide. She is also the president of Chiara and the Village Project student coordinator through the Sturzl Center. She is excited to share God’s word and love with her students and is looking forward to a great year!

Nicholas Vande Hey
Nick, a junior at St. Norbert, is majoring in business and economics. He is from Appleton, Wis., and attends Holy Cross Parish in Kaukauna, Wis. At St. Norbert College Parish, he will be serving as a catechist for middle schoolers in the Generations of Faith program. He has always enjoyed working with youth through sports, and looks forward to sharing his faith in the classroom as well. On campus, he is a resident assistant, the president of Frassati and a member of the honors program. As a child of God, he finds comfort knowing that Jesus is the only one who can satisfy his longing for something more than the world has to offer.
