Baptism

Congratulations! It is our great joy and privilege that you are considering St. Norbert College Parish for your child’s Baptism. A Catholic Baptism at St. Norbert College Parish is a celebration of a new Christian in the world. The normative is that Baptism is celebrated in a community of believers and with a community of believers. Therefore, when parents choose to have their child baptized at our parish we assume that they share the values and beliefs of the community. In the Catholic Sacrament of Baptism, you are making a commitment to raise your child in the Catholic faith, which means active participation in a parish. All couples that are not current members of SNC Parish will need a letter of good standing from their current parish.

Please review and complete all resources listed in the Resources and Request Forms section of this web page.

Membership
In the sacrament of Catholic baptism, a parent makes the commitment to raise their child in the Catholic faith, which means active participation in a parish. All couples who are not current members of SNC Parish will need a letter of good standing from their current parish.

Godparents
The role of a godparent is a sacred, lifelong committment to lead a child in the Catholic faith. To indicate who the godparent at the baptism will be, please read and complete the Godparent Request FormThe first page of the form outlines what is expected when selecting a godparent.

Baptisms will be offered during the 10AM Mass on the FIRST SUNDAY of the month in January, March, May, July, September and November. We encourage parish members to celebrate baptism during Mass as we truly believe it takes the whole parish to raise a child. For the Baptism of non-parish members including Alum, we typically celebrate outside of Mass on a day and time that works for all.
