Humans of St. Norbert:

“The Engagement Center is something new for the college. It has been a huge honor to get this up and going. It's not just about asking for gifts. We are reaching out to say thank you to anyone who has given. If there is anything else on campus that we want to get the word out about, we can do that, too.

“Students call donors and have conversations. They’re asking what they have been up to and getting a little bit of information. They can jot that down in their profiles so we can also know what they are up to later on and make it really personal. These are students who most likely have a scholarship to St. Norbert, so they are really helping themselves and their fellow classmates.

“I love growing relationships with [the students]. What they do for the college is so important and the connections they build with the alumni, parents and friends they are calling really does make an impact. The students alone are fantastic and I am really proud of them. I'm also proud of myself for being able to do a role that I have never done before. Creating something from the bottom up is so cool and I don't think I would have wanted to do it at any other place. Anyone who works here or goes here knows the sense of community is amazing. Coming back here has been a breath of fresh air! Everyone just wants to see you succeed from the students to fellow staff. It’s really nice to be in an environment where you feel supported.” – Mackenzie Ciske ’17, phonathon coordinator
