Schwoerer's Big Day Leads to 15th-Straight St. Norbert Win

DE PERE - St. Norbert College junior forward Andrew Schwoerer scored 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Green Knights to an 87-51 win over Knox College in a Midwest Conference game at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (17-1, 13-0 MWC), ranked No. 8 in the D3hoops.com Top 25, won for the 15th consecutive time - one win short of the school record. Knox dropped to 1-16, 0-12.

St. Norbert was in full command of the game after going on a 12-0 run following an early 4-0 deficit. The Green Knights led 20-11 with 8:50 in the half before going on a decisive 12-0 run over the next 6:15 to take a 32-11 lead with 2:52 to go. The Green Knights led 36-18 at halftime, with Schwoerer posting 16 of his points by halftime.

The Green Knights opened the second half on a 20-5 run, taking a 56-23 lead with 14:02 left to play on a 3-pointer by Tyler Pauley.

Schwoerer posted his point total on 11-for-15 field-goal shooting and made all four of his free-throw attempts. Pauley posted a career-high 12 points, while Austin Elliott added 10 points and five rebounds. St. Norbert shot 45.8 percent from the floor, making 33 of 72 shots. The Green Knights rebounded 25 of their misses, and held a commanding 53-30 edge on the glass. A total of 14 St. Norbert players cracked the scoring column.

Knox shot 31 percent from the floor, making 18 of 58 field-goal attempts. David Jones was the only member of the Prairie Fire to reach double figures with 12 points.
