STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College was swept in a non-conference doubleheader at UW-Stevens Point, losing by scores of 10-1 and 10-7 at University Field. The Pointers are ranked No. 2 in this week's D3baseball.com Top 25.

In the nightcap, St. Norbert (10-9) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning. Travis Mason scored on a wild pitch and Nick Pierre had an RBI single in the first inning. The Green Knights then scored three unearned runs without the benefit of a hit and thanks to two Pointers errors.

Stevens Point (17-2) responded with two runs in the second and two more in the third to cut it to 5-4. Derek Klegin had an RBI single in the fifth to push the Green Knights ahead 6-4, but Stevens Point answered with a single run in the sixth. The Pointers scored four runs on five hits in the bottom of the seventh to go ahead 9-6.

Troy Rottier had an RBI single in the eighth to cut it to 9-7, but the Pointers got the run back in the bottom of the eighth. St. Norbert had the potential game-tying run at the plate in the ninth but couldn't extend the inning.

Mason was 3-for-5 with three doubles, while Klegin and Adam Enwiya were both 2-for-5. Nate Schadrie took the loss in relief, allowing eight hits and four earned runs in four innings pitched. Stevens Point finished with 17 hits.

In the opener, St. Norbert got a single run in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Pierre to make the score 4-1. Stevens Point scored one run in its half of the fourth and then salted the game away with five runs in the seventh.

Klegin and Chad Ljunggren both had two hits for St. Norbert. Mason took the loss, going seven innings and striking out six.
