DE PERE - St. Norbert College capped one of its best athletics seasons in school history by winning both the Midwest Conference Ralph Shively Men's and Women's All-Sports trophies for 2013-14.

The Green Knights repeated as men's all-sports champion and won that award for the third time overall. The women captured their record 14th all-sports trophy, last winning it in 2011-12. St. Norbert won the honors despite neither gender having swimming, giving the Green Knights zero points in that sport. St. Norbert men's and women's hockey's performance in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association is not factored in the results.

St. Norbert offers 18 Midwest Conference sports. Five teams won conference titles, five teams finished in second place, six teams finished third and two placed fourth. The Green Knights last won both trophies in the same year in 2003-04, the last time the same school has won both. Coe College is the only other school to win both trophies in the same year, titling in 1992-93, 1993-94 and 1994-95.

St. Norbert won men's championships in football, basketball and baseball, becoming the first MWC school to win those three titles in the same year since St. Olaf College did it in 1971-72. The Green Knights totaled 88 points to clip Grinnell College, which finished with 85.5 points. St. Norbert tipped the Pioneers by one point last year to win the men's trophy.

The women earned conference championships in soccer and basketball, while volleyball, indoor track and softball all claimed runner-up finishes. St. Norbert totaled 86 points to handily claim the championship, finishing ahead of Carroll University, Grinnell and Monmouth College, which all tied for second with 76.5 points.
