DE PERE - St. Norbert College women's cross country is ranked sixth in the NCAA Division III Midwest Region according to rankings released this week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The ranking is the highest for the Green Knights in the history of the poll. The University of Chicago is ranked No. 1 in the region, followed by UW-La Crosse, Washington (Mo.) University, Aurora University and UW-Stevens Point. UW-Eau Claire follows in seventh, with Augustana College, North Central College and Wheaton College rounding out the region's Top 10.

St. Norbert won its Tom Barry Invitational on Aug. 30, and placed second behind Aurora at the Aurora Invitational on Sept. 5. The Green Knights were fifth this past Saturday competing against several Division I and Division II teams at the UW-Parkside Midwest Open.

The Green Knights return to action on Sept. 26 at the Augustana College Invitational.
