DE PERE - St. Norbert College got the game's only goal in the third period as the Green Knights claimed a 1-0 win over Marian University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (2-3, 2-2 NCHA) broke through early in the third period when Lauren Roethlisberger scored the game's lone marker with a power-play score 4 minutes 29 seconds into the stanza. Natasha Smith and Emily Chandler assisted.

There were no penalties cited during the game's first two periods. St. Norbert committed the first infraction when Allie Patrick was called for crosschecking 2:20 into the third period. Marian returned the favor when Courtney Wittig was called for the same penalty at 4:01. St. Norbert returned to full strength and nine seconds later Roethlisberger came down the right side to beat Marian goaltender Lindsey Strainis for the goal.

St. Norbert's Reaghan Chadwick was called for roughing at 8:13, but Marian couldn't capitalize on the power-play chance, the last of the game. The Sabres had 1:30 of extra-attacker time in the last two minutes, but couldn't get an equalizer.

The Green Knights outshot Marian 43-13. Leigh Grall made all 13 saves for St. Norbert, while Strainis made 42 saves in a tough-luck loss for the Sabres.

St. Norbert was 1-for-1 on the power play, while Marian was 0-for-2.
