DE PERE - St. Norbert College women's soccer senior forward Katie Vanden Avond was named a second-team All-America selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

The All-America honor is Vanden Avond's first from the NSCAA. Vanden Avond was a second-team All-America choice by D3soccer.com following her junior season in 2013. Vanden Avond joins Zoe Kurth as St. Norbert NSCAA All-America honorees. Kurth was a third-team selection as a defender in 2013.

Vanden Avond, a De Pere native and a De Pere High School graduate, led the NCAA Division III this season in goals at 39 and points with 82. Vanden Avond finished her career as the Division III career leader in goals at 130 - the second-highest total in all divisions in NCAA women's soccer history. She was a four-time first-team All-Midwest Conference selection and a three-time Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year. In 78 career games, Vanden Avond finished with 130 goals and 21 assists for 281 points.

Vanden Avond is one of three Midwest Conference women's soccer players to earn NSCAA All-America honors. Lake Forest College senior midfielder Holly Lesperance joined Vanden Avond on the second team, while Carroll University senior defender Sarah Mahoney was a third-team selection.
