St. Norbert Drops Heartbreaker to Lake Forest

DE PERE - St. Norbert College dropped a one-goal game to the sixth-ranked team in Division III, Lake Forest College, by a 2-1 score in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Foresters' Amy Budde scored at 6:11 of the third period to snap a 1-1 tie. The marker would hold up for the game-winning goal as St. Norbert couldn't net the equalizer in 55 seconds of extra-attacker time.

St. Norbert took the early lead with a power-play goal by KJ Wallace at the 11:39 mark of the first period. Lexi Pyykkonen and Natasha Smith were awarded assists.

Lake Forest knotted the score 1-1 when Melissa Bodine scored at 13:24 of the second period.

St. Norbert outshot Lake Forest 28-18 for the game, including 14-5 in the third period. Jacque Rogers made 27 saves for the Foresters, while Brianna Kelly made 16 stops for the Green Knights.

St. Norbert was 1-for-2 on the power play, while Lake Forest was 0-for-5.
