St. Norbert Bounces Back In Second Half

DE PERE - St. Norbert College rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to post a 57-47 win over Monmouth College on Connie Tilley Court at Jim Kress Gymnasium in Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.

The Green Knights (7-4) made 11 of 24 field-goal attempts in the final 20 points to outscore the Fighting Scots 40-21 in the final 20 minutes of action.

St. Norbert trailed 32-28 midway through the fourth quarter before the Green Knights went on a quick run to tie the game 32-32 with 3:55 left in the period on a conventional three-point play by Sarah Ratajczyk. Christine Olijnyk's 3-pointer with 1:52 left moved St. Norbert ahead 37-34. The Green Knights 37-36 at the third-quarter break.

The Green Knights held a 39-38 lead with 9:01 to go before going on a 7-0 run over the next five minutes. Ratajczyk's basket put St. Norbert up 41-38 with 7:18 left. She then followed with another conventional three-point play at the 4:49 mark. Sarah Neumann's basket gave the Green Knights a 46-38 edge with 4:00 to. St. Norbert never led by less than six points the rest of the way.

Ratajczyk led St. Norbert with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Olijnyk added 11 points and Neumann 10 points. Macie Zurfluh flirted with a triple-double, scoring seven points with eight rebounds and 10 assists. The Green Knights shot 19-for-52 (36.5 percent) from the floor and outrebounded Monmouth 41-32.

Monmouth was led by 14 points and 11 rebounds by Carley Turnbull. The Fighting Scots shot 37.7 percent (20-for-53) from the floor and committed 20 turnovers.
