Green Knights Battle Back to Split With Ramapo

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to finish off a wild nightcap and gain a doubleheader split with Ramapo College at Lake Myrtle Complex. The Green Knights won the second game 5-4 after dropping the opener 5-1.

St. Norbert (2-2) entered the bottom of the seventh in the nightcap trailing 4-2, but scored three runs without putting the ball into play. The Green Knights drew four walks and had a hit batsmen to score two runs to tie the game. With the bases loaded and no outs, Griffin Jack scampered home with the winning run on a wild pitch to cap the rally.

The Green Knights took a 2-1 lead in the second inning when two runs came home when Lucas Reynolds' tapper back to the mound was thrown away. The Roadrunners (4-2) then took a 4-2 lead with three runs in the top of the sixth inning.

Bryce Te Kulve earned the win in relief, working 1 1/3 innings. Nick Klavekoske started and took a no-decision, striking out four in 5 2/3 innings.

In the opener, St. Norbert held a 1-0 lead after five innings before Ramapo broke through with five runs in the sixth inning. Jack scored on Sean Ferraro's run-scoring single in the second inning.

Riley Lynch took the loss, allowing two earned runs with two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings pitched.
