Green Knights Fare Well at ITA Midwest Regional

ST. PETER, Minn. - St. Norbert College had several solid performances at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional at Gustavus Adolphus College.
Derek Harrington advanced to the third round of the seven-round singles tournament. Harrington opened the tournament with a 6-7, 7-6, 10-8 win over Concordia-Moorhead College's Matt Edin, the bracket's 14th seeding. Harrington then topped Wartburg College's Chris Buckingham 6-3, 7-5. UW-Whitewater's Ethan Niquet eliminated Harrington 6-4, 6-0.
In championship doubles action, Harrington and Matthew Lobeck advanced to the second round. The duo beat Carroll University's Matt Zellner and Nic Schultz 8-2, and then lost to third seeding Amrik Donkena and Marcel Gyswyt of Gustavus Adolphus College 8-4.
Lobeck won a pair of matches in the consolation round. Lobeck beat College of St. Scholastica's Nick Lind 8-6 and then topped Central College's Dan Bowser 8-4. Grinnell College's Ishan Bhadkamar eliminated Lobeck in the third round 8-5.
Tim Hartwick beat Edgewood College's John D'Orazio 8-0 in the second round of the consolation bracket but fell to Luther College's Ramesh Karki 8-5.
Joshua Sweere beat Lawrence's Ryan Vandeline 8-4 in the first round of the consolation bracket, and then lost to Luther's Tyler Zinnecker 8-1.
