St. Norbert Wins Key MWC Match Against Monmouth

DE PERE - St. Norbert College moved into sole possession of first place in the Midwest Conference with a three-set win over Monmouth College on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (20-7, 5-1 MWC) clinched their 13th straight 20-win season with a 25-20, 25-23, 25-20 win over the Scots. Monmouth (17-10, 6-2 MWC) entered its two-match trip to the Fox Valley unbeaten in league action but lost in four sets to Lawrence Friday night before losing to St. Norbert.

The Green Knights hit .284 in the match, getting 44 kills with 15 errors in 102 attempts. Mary Kate Manion had 12 kills with three errors in 20 attempts along with eight digs and two service aces. Lauren Meehan, Danielle Remy and Sarah Sulentic had eight kills apiece. Catherine Guido had 13 digs, and Abby West set up the offense with 41 assists.

Monmouth hit .274, getting 35 kills with nine errors in 95 attempts. Claire Hermie had eight kills, while Chelsey Widdop had seven. Widdop had 13 digs, while Mollie Murdock had 33 assists.
