ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - St. Norbert College's Jenny Scherer finished second at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional to lead the Green Knights to a tenth-place finish at Saukie Golf Course.

St. Norbert totaled 301 points for its tenth-place showing. UW-Eau Claire won the regional title with 85 points, while Washington (Mo.) University was second with 93 points and UW-Stevens Point placed third with 98 points.

Scherer finished with a time of 21 minutes 3 seconds to finish six seconds behind the University of Chicago's Elizabeth Lawton, who covered the 6-kilometer course in 20:57. Scherer placed high enough to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Meet next week at Wartburg College.

On the bubble for the national meet is Amanda Whipple, who finished 21st with a time of 22:18. If the NCAA selects the top five teams to the national meet, Whipple would advance as an individual qualifier.

Carrie Trina finished 82nd with a time of 23:31, while Kelsey Timm was 97th in 23:45. Hannah Andrekus rounded out the St. Norbert scorers with a 105th-place finish in 23:48.

Sara Hasenjager finished 115th in a time of 24:00, while Elvia Martinez was 122nd in 24:08.
