Green Knights Season Ends at North Central

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College's run in the NCAA Division III Playoffs came to an end in the first round with a 57-7 loss to North Central College at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

The Green Knights finished the year 7-4 after making the playoffs for the ninth time in 12 years. North Central, now 11-0 and ranked fifth in the D3football.com Top 25, will face Ohio Northern University in the second round.

North Central took a 36-0 halftime lead thanks to an explosive offense that put up 612 yards of total offense. The Cardinals scored on each of their first nine possessions, garnering eight touchdowns and a field goal.

St. Norbert got its lone touchdown with 35 seconds left on a Rob Berger 1-yard touchdown run.

The Green Knights had 271 yards of offense. Berger completed 15 of 33 passes for 192 yards and three interceptions. Berger had 65 yards rushing on 12 carries.

North Central had 279 yards rushing, led by Jordan Tassio's 87 yards on 10 carries. Spencer Stanek completed 12 of 14 passes for 262 yards and four touchdowns. The Cardinals had four touchdown passes of at least 37 yards.
