Green Knights Pull Away From St. Scholastica to Win Ninth Straight

DULUTH, Minn. - St. Norbert College used three third-period goals to seal a 6-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win over the College of St. Scholastica at Mars Lakeview Arena.

The Green Knights, ranked No. 2 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, improved to 11-1 overall and 7-0 in the NCHA in winning their ninth-straight game. St. Scholastica dropped to 4-6, 0-5.

St. Norbert took a 2-0 lead in the first nine minutes of the game. Taylor Langford scored his first goal of the season at 4:44 of the first, and Scott Pulak added his third marker of the year at 8:52.

The Green Knights extended their lead to 3-0 when Alain Joanette scored the second-period's lone goal at 9:50.

St. Scholastica cut the deficit to 3-1 on Austin Brown's score at 8:00 of the third period, but Kyle Stroh, Joanette and Seth Soley all scored down the stretch to salt the game away. Joanette's third-period goal was a power-play marker.

Joanette added an assist to give him a three-point night. Cody Keefer had a pair of assists.

St. Norbert outshot St. Scholastica 32-26. B.J. O'Brien made 25 saves for St. Norbert, while Brennan Poderzay made 18 stops and Patrick Sullivan eight for the Saints.
