GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College completed its first Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series sweep with an 8-1 win over Marian University at the Cornerstone Community Center's Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights got back to .500 overall for the holiday break at 6-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the NCHA. Marian dropped to 0-11-1, 0-9.

St. Norbert wasted little time in taking control of the game, jumping out to a 3-0 lead after the first period. Marissa Gale opened the scoring with her first collegiate goal 5 minutes 20 seconds into the game. Zoe Kurth followed with a power-play goal at 7:09, and Andrea Senne scored at 13:22.

The Green Knights made it 5-0 in the second period. Henriette Ostergaard scored her fifth goal of the series by burying her own rebound 39 seconds into the period. Senne then scored on a breakaway at the 11:39 mark.

Danielle Rozon picked up her first collegiate marker 3:21 into the third period. Marian cut the deficit to 6-1 when Devan Lesch's long shot hopped into the goal, but the Green Knights would answer with a pair of power-play markers. Kurth, who now has five power-play goals on the year, scored at 10:39. Alexa Jacobsen scored a 5-on-3 power-play goal at 14:30 to round out the scoring.

St. Norbert outshot Marian 40-12. The Green Knights were 3-for-4 on the power play, while the Sabres were 1-for-3.

Kaley Gibson made 11 saves for St. Norbert, while Jalan Jaskot turned away 32 shots for Marian.
