GREEN BAY - A five-goal third period was more than enough to seal St. Norbert College's first win while ranked No. 1 this season as the Green Knights topped St. John's University 6-0 in a non-conference game at the Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights, who moved into the No. 1 spot in the USCHO.com Division III Poll for the first time this season this week, stand at 12-2. St. John's dropped to 3-11.

The Green Knights opened the third period on a power play, and six seconds after it expired Joanette scored again for a 2-0 edge. Taylor Langford carried the puck in from the neutral zone and buried a shot at 7:03, and Zach McDonald followed with a power-play goal on a blast from the point at 10:17.

Cody Keefer's wrister at 13:37 of the third made it 5-0, and Seth Soley's redirect after a brillant pass from Carl Ekstrom closed out the scoring at 15:26.

Joanette and Soley each finished with three-point nights, while Adam Hammerbeck added two assists.

Mike Martin made 14 saves to earn his first collegiate shutout. J.D. Wells made 33 saves for the Johnnies. St. Norbert was 1-for-5 on the power play, while St. John's was 0-for-3.
