DE PERE - St. Norbert College will play for the 2008 Midwest Conference women's basketball championship following a 50-44 win over Beloit College at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights will play Lake Forest College, which won 69-64 in overtime over Carroll in the other semifinal. Tip-off is 2 p.m. Saturday at Schuldes Sports Center. St. Norbert beat Lake Forest 84-82 on Jan. 19 in De Pere in the teams' only meeting this season.

St. Norbert (20-4) led 44-31 with 6:26 left following a 3-pointer by Denise Heuser. The Green Knights would see that lead dwindle down to 46-40 with 2:12 left after Beloit went on a 9-2 run.

Stefanie Bunday made two free throws with 1:14 left to put the Green Knights up 48-40. Katie McCool drained a couple of baskets to cut the lead to 48-44 with 26 seconds to go. Linsey Propson missed the front end of the 1-and-1 with 21 seconds left but Beloit turned it over. Bunday's two free throws with 14 seconds left salted away the win.

St. Norbert was led by Propson's 14 points, while Cortney Biese added 12 points. The Green Knights made 19 of 52 field goals for 36.5 percent, but were 6-for-15 from beyond the three-point arc.

McCool led Beloit with 20 points, making 10 of 12 shots from the floor. Beloit made just one-third of its shots, making 18 of 54 field goals. The Buccaneers were just 1-for-13 from beyond the three-point arc.

St. Norbert won its 20th game in a season for the seventh time in program history.
