St. Norbert Loses to No. 2 UW-River Falls

GREEN BAY - Three goals in the second period by UW-River Falls led to a 3-1 loss for St. Norbert College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at the Cornerstone Community Center's Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights fell to 7-8-1 overall and 4-6-1 in the NCHA. The Falcons, ranked No. 2 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, improved to 13-0 and 9-0 in the NCHA.

River Falls picked up a trio of markers in the second period to take a 3-0 lead. Katie Batters scored goals at 2:21 and 16:23 of the period, while Kait Mason scored at 5:28. The Falcons held an 18-2 shots advantage in the second period.

St. Norbert's Alexa Jacobson scored her fifth goal of the season at the 2:37 mark of the third period for the game's final margin.

River Falls outshot St. Norbert 42-10. The Green Knights held the Falcons scoreless on seven power-play opportunities and were 0-for-2 themselves with the extra player.

Melissa Deardorff made nine saves for the Falcons, while Kaley Gibson made 39 saves for the Green Knights.
