GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College mustered just 18 shots on goal but managed to eke out a 3-2 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win over UW-Eau Claire at the Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights, ranked No. 1 in the USCHO.com Poll, improved to 15-2 overall and 9-1 in the NCHA. Eau Claire fell to 10-7, 4-6.

The win gave St. Norbert head coach Tim Coghlin his 370th win as a coach in the NCHA, tying legendary Bemidji State head coach Bob Peters for the most in league history.

St. Norbert was outshot 10-3 in a ragged first period, but its first two shots were goals. Cody Keefer sniped a goal 2 minutes 31 seconds into the game, and Reid Campbell's shot from the blue found the net at 7:21. That ended Eau Claire goaltender Brandon Stephenson's night.

The Green Knights made it 3-0 when Keefer scored again from out front just 42 seconds into the second period. Eau Claire rallied with a goal at 16:32 of the second by Jon Waggoner to cut it to 3-1.

The Blugolds made it interesting when they scored a shorthanded, extra-attacker goal by Isaiah Bennis with 51 seconds left. St. Norbert then hung on for the win.

Seth Soley assisted on all three St. Norbert markers.

Eau Claire outshot St. Norbert 28-18. B.J. O'Brien made 17 saves, while Scott Pederson made 15 saves in relief for the Blugolds. St. Norbert was 0-for-4 on the power play, while Eau Claire was 0-for-5.
