St. Norbert Pulls Away From Ripon

DE PERE - St. Norbert College shot almost 62 percent from the floor in the second half to claim a 57-39 win over Ripon College on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights improved to 16-2 overall and 12-1 in the Midwest Conference, while Ripon lost its 11th straight to fall to 4-13, 3-9.

Neither team scored a field goal for the game's first five minutes and Ripon eventually led 13-7 with 6 minutes 2 seconds left in the half. St. Norbert then went on a 14-0 run fueled by 10 points from Jamie Kuhl to eventually take a 21-17 halftime lead.

The Red Hawks stayed within four at 31-27 with 11:34 to go, but Krista Pelky's 3-pointer gave St. Norbert a boost, starting a 14-6 run over the next five minutes. St. Norbert eventually led 49-34 with 4:37 left and the Red Hawks never threatened after that.

Kuhl finished with 17 points, while Rachel Hermus had 13 points with a career-high 13 rebounds. The Green Knights shot 47.7 percent from the floor, making 21 of 44 shots.

Ripon made just 12 of 54 shots from the floor, a 22.2 percent success rate. The Red Hawks, who were led by Kacie Cullen's 12 points, had 22 turnovers.
