GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College finished the regular season with an unblemished 11-0 home mark at the Cornerstone Community Center with a 5-3 win over the College of St. Scholastica in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association contest.

The Green Knights, ranked No. 2 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, improved to 19-3-1 and 13-2-1 in the NCHA. St. Scholastica dropped to 9-13-1, 4-12.

St. Norbert need a pair of goals in the final half of the third period to close the game out. Brandon Longley completed a nice give-and-go feed from Joe Perry with 8 minutes 9 seconds remaining to snap a 3-3 tie. Derek Donahue's empty-net goal with 7 seconds left sealed the victory.

The Green Knights led 3-1 entering the third period before the Saints scored twice 12 seconds apart to tie the game. Paul Marcoux scored at the 6:41 mark of the third, then Kyle Cowan found the net at 6:53. However, St. Scholastica would only get one shot on goal the rest of the game following those two scores.

The Saints opened the scoring at 10:18 of the first period on a goal by Nate Taurence but Brandon Hoogenboom tied the game at 17:24 to end the first period 1-1.

Donahue would register his first collegiate goal at 6:52 of the second period, jamming the puck home after the Saints were late getting to even strength 8 seconds after a penalty had expired. Kyle Stroh's shorthanded goal at 13:09 put the Green Knights ahead 3-1.

St. Norbert outshot St. Scholastica 38-25, and both teams were 0-for-3 on the power play. A triumvirate of goaltenders played for St. Norbert, with Blake Bashor making six saves, B.J. O'Brien 12 and Mike Martin four. O'Brien was credited with the win. Brennan Poderzay made 33 saves for the Saints.
