STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College sophomore Louis Ayensu-Mensah set a new school record in the 55-meter dash to pace the Green Knights to a seventh-place finish at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational.

The Green Knights were seventh with 43 points. UW-Eau Claire won the meet with 181.5 points, while UW-Stevens Point was second with 174.5 points. UW-River Falls was a distant third with 62 points.

Ayensu-Mensah finished third in the 55 meters with a time of 6.55 seconds, which was just enough to erase the old mark of 6.56 seconds set by Ryan Schneider in 2002.

Dann Schneider picked up a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash. His time of 22.52 seconds narrowly lost to Stevens Point's Babatunde Awosika's 22.51 seconds.

St. Norbert had a pair of 4x200-meter relays fare well. The quartet of Ayensu-Mensah, Andrew Verfuerth, Mike Verfuerth and Ryan Ascher finished second in 1:32.97. The foursome of Tyler Seidl, Clayton Buske, Victor Twardowski and Brandon Guarascio was third in 1:34.29.
