DE PERE - St. Norbert College will face UW-Stevens Point in a first-round NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament game Friday at Berg Gym.

St. Norbert (23-2) will face the Pointers (25-2) Friday at a time to be determined. The two teams have met twice in the NCAA Tournament in the last three years, with the visiting team winning each game. St. Norbert shocked the Pointers 71-57 in 2008 in Stevens Point, while Stevens Point returned the favor last year in De Pere by a 71-58 score.

The Green Knights earned the Midwest Conference's automatic qualifier with a 56-54 overtime win over Monmouth College Saturday at Schuldes Sports Center. St. Norbert has won 21 of its last 22 games. The Green Knights are making their tenth NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. St. Norbert, 9-13 all-time in the tournament, made trips in 1983, 1985-89, 2003, 2008 and 2010. The Green Knights, who hosted the Division III Final Four in 1985, have won at least one NCAA Tournament game in each of their last three appearances.

Stevens Point, which enters the tournament on an 18-game winning streak, won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 16-0 record and won the WIAC Tournament championship with a 79-56 win Sunday over UW-Whitewater. The Pointers, who are making their eighth NCAA Division III Tournament appearance, are 19-6 all-time in the tournament and won national titles in 1987 and 2002.

Simpson College (21-6) will face Concordia-Moorhead College (21-6) in the other first-round game Friday. The two first-round winners will meet Saturday night for the regional title.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday in UW-Stevens Point's Dreyfus University Center at the University Information and Ticket office. Fans can call 715-346-4100 to reserve their tickets.
