DE PERE - St. Norbert College salvaged a doubleheader split with Ripon College in a pair of key Midwest Conference North Division games at Mel Nicks Field. The Red Hawks claimed the opener 5-0 before the Green Knights rallied to claim the nightcap 3-2.

St. Norbert (14-13, 7-2 MWC) scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Birttany Narges reached on an error and advanced to second on a fielder's choice. Following a flyout and a walk to load the bases, Jessica Kropp's grounder was misplayed allowing Narges to score.

Ripon (17-7, 6-3 MWC) scored twice in the top of the first but St. Norbert answered with one in the third and one in the fifth. Narges' single in the third plated Ashtin Schmechel, and Narges' single drove in Steph Brunette in the fifth.

Narges was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Brunette was also 2-for-4. Kayla Krueger got the win scattering seven hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

The Green Knights were held to four hits in the opener by the Red Hawks' Stephanie Rieuwpassa, who walked one and struck out eight. Ripon scored four times in the third inning and was never threatened the rest of the game. Kari Corbeille took the loss, allowing six hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
