DE PERE - St. Norbert College picked up a much-needed Midwest Conference sweep with wins of 15-1 and 8-7 over Lawrence University at Mel Nicks Field.

The Green Knights (14-13, 8-4 MWC) jumped on Lawrence early with five runs on just one hit in the first inning. St. Norbert had a 7-1 lead before putting the game away with eight runs in the sixth inning. Ryan Kehl had a two-run single and Nick Pierre a two-run double in the frame.

Kevin Nutley tossed a complete-game win, allowing four hits with four walks and three strikeouts. Kehl, Pierre, Kyle Johnsen, Jared Yost and Chad Ljunggren all had two hits in the game.

St. Norbert had to rally from a 7-1 deficit in the nightcap. Matt Hannon had a two-run single in the fourth to cut the deficit to 7-4, and a fielder's choice groundout plated Jordan Powers to make it 7-5. The Green Knights tied it in the sixth on a Garrick Fisher sacrifice fly and an RBI single by Yost. Back-to-back doubles by Pierre and Johnsen in the seventh scored the go-ahead run.

Hannon was 3-for-4, while Jordan Powers, Yost, Pierre and Johnsen all had two hits apiece. Josh Honzik got the win in relief and Kyle Mahlik worked the last two innings to nail down the save.
