Three Earn CoSIDA Track and Field Academic All-District Accolades

DE PERE - St. Norbert College junior Emily Schudrowitz, junior Kelsey Timm and senior David Mason have earned mention on the Capitol One Academic All-District V track and field/cross country teams, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Schudrowitz and Timm were first-team all-district choices, while Mason was a second-team honoree.

Schudrowitz, a Wauwatosa native and a graduate of Wauwatosa East High School, holds a 3.91 grade point average while majoring in international business and Spanish. Schudrowitz finished third last Saturday at the NCAA Division III outdoor 800-meter run, her best-ever national outdoor finish. She also won the 2010 Division III indoor 800-meter national championship. Schudrowitz has won 15 Midwest Conference championships and owns eight St. Norbert and four Midwest Conference records.

Timm, an Oconomowoc native and a graduate of Lake Country Lutheran High School, holds a 4.00 grade point average while majoring in psychology. Timm was the 10,000-meter champion and 3,000-meter steeplechase runner-up at the 2011 Midwest Conference Outdoor Championship. She also placed ninth as a freshman and junior at the Midwest Conference Cross Country Championship.

Mason, a De Pere native and a graduate of West De Pere High School, holds a 3.93 grade point average with majors in economics and business administration. Mason has run on the school's 4x400-meter relay team throughout his collegiate career and helped the Green Knights to a second-place team finish at this year's MWC Outdoor Championship. He has earned campus awards given to the top economics and top finance student, and was also a teaching assistant.

As first-team all-district selections, Schudrowitz and Timm advance to the national ballot for the Academic All-America track and field/cross country team, which is announced later this month.

To be eligible for national or regional selection, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. The Academic All-America team is selected after All-District teams are picked from eight geographic regions nationally. District V's College Division encompasses Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota schools belonging to NCAA Division II, III or NAIA affiliations.
