APPLETON - St. Norbert College scored three second-half goals en route to winning its opener in the Midwest Conference with a 4-2 triumph over Lawrence University at Whiting Field.

The Green Knights snapped a modest two-game losing streak to improve to 4-2 overall. The Vikings fell to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the MWC.

St. Norbert led 1-0 at halftime after Brittany Kosobucki scored unassisted 4 minutes 25 seconds into the match.

The Vikings tallied the equalizer just over 10 minutes into the second half when Mallory Koula scored at 55:11. The Green Knights would take a 3-1 lead in the next four minutes, with Katie Vanden Avond scoring at 57:01 and 58:49. Vanden Avond, who now has nine goals on the year, was assisted by Kellan Zimmer and Katherine Larson, respectively.

Koula cut the Lawrence deficit to 3-2 at 79:06, but Larson scored unassisted at 83:10 to salt the game away for the Green Knights.

Lawrence held the upper hand in shots 18-10 and corner kicks 4-1, but St. Norbert was able to get the edge at the pay window by putting six of its 10 shots on goal. Sarah Platzer made two saves for St. Norbert, while Cassandra Burke made two stops for the Vikings.
