St. Norbert Tops Knox In Conference Win

DE PERE - St. Norbert College broke open a close game with three second-half goals and rolled to a 5-1 win Midwest Conference win over Knox College at Kolstad Field at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (2-13-1, 2-5-1 MWC) led 2-1 at halftime before scoring three times in the first 17 minutes of the second half. Mark Jasso scored off an assist from Derek Stiver at the 46 minutes 12 seconds mark. Trevor Scales scored at 52:22 assisted by Kyryll Vasylenko, and then Vasylenko scored with Mark Zelenika helping at 61:25 to finish the scoring barrage.

St. Norbert jumped out to a 2-0 lead when Jasso converted a penalty kick at 18:07 and Jeff Hayes scored from Andrew Hull at 22:38. The Prairie Fire (1-13, 0-6) answered at 30:51 on a goal by Marcos Moreno.

St. Norbert held a 24-15 edge in shots and a 5-3 advantage in penalty kicks. Noah Davis made six saves in just over 59 minutes of work, while Scott Faul made one stop in relief. Franz Huebner made six saves for Knox.
