St. Norbert Gets Back to .500 With Win Over Concordia

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College moved back to the .500 mark this season with a 3-1 win over Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at the Cornerstone Community Center's Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights are now 4-4 overall on the season, and sit at 3-2 in the NCHA. Concordia, which had won its last three games, fell to 5-3, 4-2.

St. Norbert pushed past the Falcons behind a pair of third-period goals. The Green Knights went ahead 2-1 3 minutes 47 seconds into the frame when Zoe Kurth's backdoor power-play goal snapped the tie. Lotta Haarala's drive at 8:09 found the back of the net for a 3-1 lead.

The Green Knights drew first blood when Karissa Anderson finished off a scrum in front of the net at the 8:27 mark of the second period. The Falcons answered 39 seconds later when Emily Heckendorf's shot from the blue line found the back of the net.

St. Norbert outshot Concordia by a commanding 34-20 margin, including 20-10 in the last two periods. The Green Knights were 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Falcons were 0-for-3.

Katie Aluia made 19 saves for St. Norbert to improve to 3-0 on the year. Andrea Mizanskey made 31 stops for the Falcons.
