Green Knights Drop Heartbreaker at UW-River Falls

RIVER FALLS - St. Norbert College lost its fourth one-goal game of the season in a 3-2 setback to UW-River Falls in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Hunt Arena.

The Green Knights fell to 4-7 overall and 3-5 in the NCHA. River Falls, ranked No. 7 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, improved to 9-1-1, 8-1.

River Falls took the lead at the 18:02 mark of the first period on a goal by Katie Batters. The Green Knights answered just 23 seconds later on Henriette Ostergaard's first goal of the season, with Tara Frey and Zoe Kurth assisting.

Alyssa Black gave River Falls a 2-1 lead after two periods when she scored at the 17:29 mark.

Ostergaard scored again, this time at 13:38 of the third period to bring the Green Knights back to even, but Batters scored with 3:15 remaining for the game-winning goal.

River Falls outshot St. Norbert 33-19. The Falcons were 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Green Knights were 0-for-4. Melissa Deardorff made 17 saves for River Falls, while Katie Aluia made 30 stops for the Green Knights.
