Hamline Tips St. Norbert

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College's scoring slump continued with a 2-1 loss to Hamline University at the Cornerstone Community Center's Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights, who have scored four goals in their last five games, fell to 4-9 overall. Hamline improved to 4-6-1.

St. Norbert took the early lead when Sophie Herbert registered her first collegiate goal just 5 minutes 35 seconds gone by. Herbert's shot from the slot was assisted by Danielle Rozon.

The Pipers answered at 16:42 of the first period when Sam Berger's shot from the point got past a screened St. Norbert goaltender Mandy Montgomery for a 1-1 tie.

Hamline scored the game-winner at 1:24 of the second period when Corinne Henning scored on a breakaway.

Hamline outshot St. Norbert 41-25. Nicole Jones made 24 saves for the Pipers, while Montgomery made 39 saves for the Green Knights. Hamline was 0-for-3 on the power play, while St. Norbert was 0-for-1.
