Defense Shines as Green Knights Shutout Superior

SUPERIOR - St. Norbert College picked up its second win this season over a nationally ranked opponent with a 1-0 win over UW-Superior in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Wessman Arena.

The Green Knights, now 6-10 overall and 4-7 in the NCHA, also beat then-No. 10 Adrian 2-1 on Nov. 10. Superior fell to 7-5-2, 6-3-1.

St. Norbert got the only goal it would need at 12 minutes 34 seconds of the second period. Henriette Ostergaard scored her third goal of the season with Zoe Kurth assisting.

Katie Aluia made the score hold up, making 27 saves. Aluia pitched her second shutout of the season in lowering her goals against average on the season to 1.10.

Amy Torgerson was the tough-luck loser in net for the Yellowjackets, making 20 saves.

Superior outshot St. Norbert 27-21. Both teams were 0-for-3 on the power play.
