Green Knights Fall to Monmouth

DE PERE - St. Norbert College allowed 47 second-half points en route to a 77-72 loss to Monmouth College at Schuldes Sports Center.

Monmouth (11-7, 10-3 MWC) shot 71.4 percent from the floor in the second half to rally from a 19-point first-half deficit to steal the win. St. Norbert still leads the Midwest Conference race by two games with four games left, and stand at 15-4 overall and 13-1 in the league.

St. Norbert led 50-37 with 15:02 left to play before Monmouth went on a 32-10 run over the next 11 minutes to take a 69-60 lead with 4:07 left. St. Norbert went on an 11-2 run over the next three minutes to square the game at 71-71, but the Scots closed out the win on a 6-1 run.

Krista Pelky led St. Norbert with 22 points, while Krista Hawkinson added 19 points. Tasha Giese had 10 points and collected nine rebounds for the Green Knights, who shot 40 percent (24-for-60) from the floor.

Zipporah Williams had 22 points and 11 rebounds for Monmouth, which shot 56 percent (28-for-50) from the floor for the game. Haley Jones scored 13 points, Kaley Corban 12 points and Marla Willard 11 points.
