St. Norbert Falls in Overtime at Beloit

BELOIT - St. Norbert College dropped a 69-65 overtime decision to Beloit College in a Midwest Conference game at Flood Arena.

The Green Knights (13-8, 10-6) now face Carroll University Saturday in De Pere in a key game for qualifying for the MWC Tournament. Beloit (8-12, 7-8) remained mathematically alive for a MWC Tournament berth with the win.

Neither team scored in the last 3 minutes 4 seconds of regulation. The Green Knights had the ball for the 59 seconds of regulation with the score tied 61-61, but missed a pair of potential game winning 3-pointers.

Both teams scored only two points in overtime until Beloit's James Lazarcik grabbed an offensive rebound and converted on a conventional three-point play with 32 seconds left to give the Buccaneers a 66-63 lead.

St. Norbert shot 36.1 percent (22-for-61) from the floor, and was led by Garrett Thorn's 18 points and Jack Whalen's 16 points.

Beloit shot 44.8 percent (26-for-58) from the floor. David Bremner led Beloit wiht 25 points, while Lazarcik had nine points and a whopping 18 rebounds for the Buccaneers, who held a 42-36 rebounding edge.
