BELOIT - St. Norbert College extended its Midwest Conference record by winning its 11th league championship, and head coach Connie Tilley won her 900th overall game, with a 60-36 win over Beloit College at Flood Arena.

The Green Knights win, coupled with Monmouth College's 60-57 loss at Grinnell College, clinched the Midwest Conference title. St. Norbert will host the MWC Tournament for the fifth-straight year on Feb. 24-25 at Schuldes Sports Center in De Pere.

The triumph also gave Tilley her 900th collegiate coaching win in her hometown of Beloit. Tilley owns a 571-262 mark in basketball in 35 seasons, and also went 199-121 in softball from 1983-95 and 130-76 in volleyball from 1977-85. The court in Schuldes Sports Center was named in her honor in January 2009. Only Elizabethtown's Yvonne Kauffman (42 years) and Tennessee's Pat Summitt (38 years) have spent more time coaching women's basketball at one school, and her 35 years is matched by Emmanuel's Andy Yosinoff.

St. Norbert slowly pulled away in the first half to lead 30-20 at halftime. The Green Knights opened the second half on a 22-4 run, taking a 52-24 lead with 11:16 to go on a Krista Pelky layup

No Green Knights played over 25 minutes in the game, and 11 different players played at least 10 minutes. Krista Hawkinson led St. Norbert with 13 points, while Morgan Heim was the only other Green Knight in double figures with 11 points. The Green Knights shot 36.7 percent (22-for-60) from the floor.

Lauren McNanna led Beloit with 11 points. The Buccaneers committed 27 turnovers and shot only 29.7 percent (11-for-37) from the floor.
