Surging St. Norbert Tops Concordia-Wisconsin

MEQUON - St. Norbert College won for the seventh time in the last nine games as the Green Knights topped Concordia University Wisconsin 2-1 in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Ozaukee Ice Center.

The Green Knights improved to 11-12 overall with the win and stand at 9-9 in the NCHA. Concordia dropped to 7-12-2, 5-10-1.

St. Norbert jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and held on for the win. Lotta Haarala netted a power-play goal at the 9 minutes 52 seconds mark with Henriette Ostergaard and Zoe Kurth assisting. The Green Knights scored again at 15:09 when Kurth buried her sixth goal of the year, with Ostergaard again assisting.

Concordia outshot St. Norbert 16-7 in the second period but couldn't score until the third stanza. Sammi Reiter's goal at 7:23 of the third drew the Falcons to within 2-1, but couldn't find the equalizer down the stretch.

Concordia outshot St. Norbert 36-27 in the game, but the Green Knights' Kaley Gibson made 35 saves. Jennifer DeGeorge made 25 saves for the Falcons. St. Norbert was 1-for-4 on the power play, while Concordia was 0-for-5.
