St. Norbert Fares Well at Grand Valley State Big Meet

ALLENDALE, Mich. - St. Norbert College registered many top season individual performances at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet at Kelly Family Sports Center. The Green Knights were one of about 60 schools competing at the unscored event.

Nathan Heppe, last year's Midwest Conference indoor champion in the 800-meter run, is rated No. 1 in the event again this season after posting a time of 1 minute 56.87 seconds. Benny Swift and Justin Fote also had season-best times of 2:01.18 and 2:01.71, respectively, and both are in the top eight times in the MWC in the event.

St. Norbert also had three runners run in the 23-second range in the 200-meter dash for the first time this season. Justin Johnson (23.03 seconds), Taylor Pasterski (23.20) and Brent Schreiber (23.60) all finished under 24 seconds.

Andrew Verfuerth made the finals in the long jump invite section with a distance of 21-1.25, while Johnson ran a time of 8.63 seconds in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles invite flight.

Schreiber and Andrew Jacobson both advanced to the long jump finals, with Schreiber jumping 21 feet 1.5 inches and Jacobson leaping 20-4.25.

Kenny Oxendorf also posted a personal-best distance of 43-1.75 in the weight throw.
