DE PERE - St. Norbert College hockey coach Tim Coghlin and freshman goaltender David Jacobson both picked up national honors this week from U.S. College Hockey Online.

Coghlin was named the Web site's NCAA Division III Coach of the Year, while Jacobson was selected its Rookie of the Year.

Coghlin earned his fourth Coach of the Year honor from USCHO. Coghlin was named USCHO's West Region Coach of the Year in 2006, and has garnered national Coach of the Year accolades in 2008, 2011 and 2012. The Green Knights repeated as national championship this season, finishing with a 14-1-1 mark down the stretch after a 7-4-4 start to the season.

Jacobson concluded his impressive freshman campaign with a 19-2-3 record and a .936 save percentage. Jacobson's 1.53 goals against average finished second this year in the NCAA Division III statistical leaders, and was the best mark by a regular starter. Jacobson posted four shutouts on the season, and allowed just four goals in six post-season games.

St. Norbert, which finished 21-5-5, won the national championship on Saturday with a 4-1 win over Oswego State University in Lake Placid, N.Y.
