Green Knights Finish Fourth at Ripon Invitational

GREEN LAKE - St. Norbert College finished fourth among 16 teams at the Ripon College Invitational held at the Lawsonia Golf Courses. The 36-hole event was played on Lawsonia's Woods Course in the first round and the Links Course for the second round.
The Green Knights shot a 326-311--637 to finish 17 strokes behind winner Carthage College, which shot a 312-308--620. Viterbo University was second with a 318-309--627 and Edgewood College was third with a 322-311--633. Carroll University's Eric Busalacchi won the individual title with a 74-73--147.
St. Norbert had a pair of top-four finishes. Joe Martin carded a 76-76--152 to finish 8-over-par for a third-place finish. Brandon Gries finished with an 82-72--154 to finish in a fourth-place tie at 10-over-par. Gries' 72 on the Links Course was the best mark of the day in the 89-player field.
Nic Vrubley finished with an 80-83--163 to finish in a tie for 23rd place, while Jacob Hebbard was in a tie for 40th with a 91-78--169. Evan Mass rounded out the Green Knights' quintet with an 88-83--171 for a 43rd-place tie.
St. Norbert also sent a "B" team to the tournament, which finished in ninth place with a score of 339-349--688. Jon Hansen finished in a tie for 30th place to lead the "B" squad with an 80-85--165.
