BELOIT - St. Norbert College parlayed six walks in one inning into seven runs as the Green Knights gained a Midwest Conference doubleheader split with Beloit College at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium. The Green Knights dumped the opener 13-7 before taking the nightcap 9-5.

St. Norbert (9-10, 2-2 MWC North) trailed 1-0 before scoring seven runs on two hits plus six walks and a hit batsman in the top of the sixth inning. Nick Pierre, Matt Hannon, Travis Mason and Garrick Fisher all drew bases-loaded walks, while Jordan Powers and Chris Hillesheim had RBI singles. Chris Laux added a sacrifice fly during the rally.

Hillesheim had an RBI single in the eighth inning to make it 8-1, but Beloit scored four runs on five hits and two St. Norbert errors in the bottom of the eighth to cut it to 8-5. Mason then hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth for the game's final run.

Hillesheim finished 3-for-4 and two RBIs, while Hannon and Troy Rottier both had two hits. Mason turned in a stopper's effort on the mound, allowing eight hits with three earned runs and two strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.

In the opener St. Norbert scored twice in the fourth and twice again in the fifth to take a 5-4 lead but couldn't stop Beloit from scoring in any inning the rest of the game.

Laux and Chad Ljunggren both had three hits in the opener, while Hillesheim was 2-for-4. Rottier took the loss on the mound, allowing seven hits and seven runs in 5 1/3 innings.
