DE PERE - St. Norbert College got back to the .500 mark on the season with a 12-2 non-conference win over Lakeland College at Mel Nicks Field.

The Green Knights (10-10) got a complete-game win from Nick Schadrie, who saved a bullpen coming off a four-game conference series with Beloit College this past weekend. Schadrie allowed just five hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

St. Norbert gave Schadrie all the support he would need with a big six-run first inning. Chris Laux put the Green Knights on the board with a two-run single. Nick Pierre and Troy Rottier followed with RBI singles, and Chad Ljunggren added a two-run double to end the uprising.

The Muskies (16-12) picked up single runs in the second and fourth innings to close to within 6-2, but the Green Knights pulled away from there. St. Norbert scored two runs in the fourth inning on an RBI double by Garrick Fisher, who then stole third base and scored on a throwing error.

St. Norbert added runs in the fifth and sixth, and ended the game via the mercy rule with two runs in the seventh on RBI singles by Jordan Powers and Travis Mason.

The Green Knights had 13 hits. Fisher, Laux, Ljunggren and Matt Hannon all had two hits apiece, while Rottier was 1-for-1 with three walks, three runs scored and two stolen bases.
