St. Norbert Matches School Season Wins Record With Sweep

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College matched its record for wins in a season with a pair of 8-1 wins over UW-Stevens Point and Wisconsin Lutheran College at Western Racquet Club.

The Green Knights finished their season 15-7, equaling the amount of victories registered in a 15-2 season in 1996.

St. Norbert got an 8-1 win from Callie Schroeder and Maggie Berens over the Pointers' Monica Preisig and Allison Fortier at No. 2 doubles. Ariel Bloniarz and Emily Rasmussen beat Katelyn Presti and Kristen Finstad 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.

Schroeder beat Taylor Weuve 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, followed by a 7-5, 6-0 win by Brittany Dudzik over Fortier at No. 5. Nancy Chybowski topped Rachel Brown 6-2, 7-6 (6-3) at No. 1, while Bloniarz had the Green Knights' other two-set win with a 7-6 (6-2), 6-2 win over Presti at No. 3.

The Green Knights swept the doubles matches against Wisconsin Lutheran. Chybowski and Laura Michel beat Kaitlyn Strehlow and Kathryn Hendee 8-6 at No. 1. Schroeder and Berens defeated Emily Pearson and Alyssa Strangstalien 8-6 at No. 2. Bloniarz and Rasmussen blanked Lindsay Gauger and Stephanie Gengler 8-0 at No. 3.

Dudzik had a 6-0, 6-1 win over Stephanie Kudek at No. 5 singles. Rasmussen added a 6-2, 6-1 win over Terri Glasel at No. 6 singles, while Anna Reardon beat Strangstalien 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6. Schroeder beat Hendee 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2, and Bloniarz topped Pearson 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3.
