St. Norbert Heads to NCAA Regional at Illinois Wesleyan

DE PERE - St. Norbert College will participate in the eight-team NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional held Thursday-Monday, May 10-14 at Illinois Wesleyan University.
The Midwest Conference-champion Green Knights (17-18) will face the host Titans (36-6), champions of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin at 10 a.m. Thursday. The two teams met twice during spring break in Florida, with Illinois Wesleyan claiming a 10-2 win on March 12 and an 11-2 win on March 15.
Other first-round games in the double-elimination tournament are UW-Eau Claire (32-12) vs. Fontbonne University (27-10), Carthage College (34-8) vs. Anderson University (30-10) and defending national champion Linfield University (38-5) vs. Benedictine University (33-9).
St. Norbert is making its four NCAA Division III Tournament appearance, also advancing to the regional round in 2007, 2009 and 2010. The Green Knights are 3-6 all-time in the tournament, and went 3-2 in the regional to take third place in the Great Lakes Regional at UW-Whitewater in 2010.
